AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #37
AS3 Performance Sponsor JWR Honda Racing MXGP Team For 2024
MXGP of Spain, Intu Xanadú - Arroyomolinos, 23rd-24th March 2024
Back in 2019, we sponsored JWR when they were Yamaha. We are now pleased to announce that we are on board with them for a second time, supporting them with a range of Honda performance and protection parts for 2024. Even though it was Round 2 of the 2024 Championship, this was the first race weekend for the Swedish Team and Pro rider Alvin Östlund, competing in the MXGP Class on a Honda CRF 450 R, as the team didn't travel to the MXGP of Argentina for Round 1. Timed Practice & RAM Qualifying Race - Saturday 23rd March
Alvin Östlund is renowned for his sand track riding and the dry, deep-rutted, hard pack track in Spain proved quite difficult for him, especially being his first GP of the season. Alvin struggled to put a solid lap together in Timed Practice, posting the 22nd fastest time. The RAM Qualifying Race went better, getting a good start but he still struggled to find a nice flow during the race. He finished P19. Click here for some video footage of Alvin from the RAM Qualifying Race.
MXGP Race 1 - Sunday 24th March
Alvin got a really good jump off the gate, narrowly missing the holeshot. He felt better on race day than the previous day, but has some stomach problems during Race 1 unfortunately. He pushed through however to finish P18. Click here to see Alvin warming up and in practice on Sunday morning.

MXGP Race 2 - Sunday 24th March
Alvin got another really good start, again narrowly missing out on the holeshot. His feeling on the bike was better again in Race 2, but was lacking a bit of pace. Alvin came home P18 again for P19 overall and with that, 6 points for the Championship. Click here for some video footage of Alvin's race weekend.

Well done to Alvin and the JWR Honda Racing Team on their first GP of 2024 and we look forward to seeing their progression through the season. The next event for the team will be the MXGP of Sardegna, Italy at Riola Sardo, on 6th - 7th April.
Other Supported Rider News
Our Supported Junior MX Rider Ollie Hain, competed in the Round 1 of the Scottish Motocross Champs in Tain the other week and came away with 2nd overall in the Auto Class. Despite having to swap his GasGas MC 50 to his KTM 50 SX between races due to a mechanical, he still managed a top result. Congrats Ollie and we look forward to seeing him on the top step of the podium soon!
New AS3 Performance Motocross and Enduro Parts
Billet Aluminium Fuel Caps For The 2020-2024 Beta RR and Xtrainer Enduro Bikes
We have recently developed a brand new fuel cap for the 2020-2024 Beta RR and Xtrainer enduro bikes. In 2020 Beta changed the design of the fuel tank cover and although the fuel cap itself remained unchanged, our 2013-2019 fuel cap didn't fit the 2020- models due to the slightly wider design catching on the new Beta fuel tank cover. Our new Beta fuel caps are smaller in diameter to allow fitment on the newer models and we have also tweaked the design of it slightly. We hope you like it!
New Clutch Covers For the 2001-2003 KTM SX, EXC and MXC motocross and Enduro Bikes
Another new billet aluminium product that we have added to our website this week is the clutch cover for the 2001-2003 KTM 2 stroke motocross and enduro bikes. We were contacted by one of our customers in the United States as he had a 2001 KTM 250 SX and his friends had similar models including the 2003 KTM 300 EXC and the 2002 KTM 380 MXC and they were struggling to find replacement parts for them. Over the past few months we have developed and tested these clutch covers and they are now available on our website. We are also currently working on the ignition cover for the other side of the engine. If you would like to see more parts for the older 2 stroke bikes, let us know and we can see what we can do.
