AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #42

Converting Your Enduro Or Motocross Bike to Supermoto

Now that summer is finally here, what better way to spend it than throwing some road wheels and tyres on your motocross or enduro bike and spending time cruising around some quiet country roads, away from the rain and mud that you've been riding in all winter! Over the past few years we have worked with many riders that have done exactly that and in this article we are featuring some of our favourite enduro and motocross bikes that have been converted to Supermoto spec. These conversions are really popular with European riders and we have showcased a few of our customer's builds below.

Gas Gas EC 350 F Supermoto

Gas Gas is a brand that you don't immediately associate with supermoto. They had a few offerings around 2004-2006 with the SM 450 and more recently with the SM 700, but the brand has mainly been know for producing top quality trials and enduro bikes, so it was nice to see something different with this conversion of the EC 350 F enduro bike. Mathieu Maricic @maxitytv is a French content creator, Supermoto Rider and Stunt Rider, who has converted his Gas Gas EC 350 F Enduro bike to full Supermoto spec. He runs our Black Supermoto Foot Pegs complete with Plastic Sliders. These are an extremely popular choice for riders who have converted their bikes to Supermoto, as well as for our out and out Supermoto riders and bikes.

KTM 500 EXC-F Supermoto

This is definitely one of our all time favourite Supermoto conversions. The bike has been completely transformed visually from OEM spec which is something that we love to see as part of any bike build. Swiss bike builder & content creator Hendrik Koller @hendrik.exc totally changed the look & performance of his original KTM 500 EXC-F Enduro bike. The difference of the finished Supermoto bike from the original is unbelievable! Hendrik replaced a lot of the OEM parts with our performance and protection parts. The clutch cover and water pump cover being two stand out parts in the photo below. When the bike was completed, Hendrik also arranged a photoshoot which shows in detail the lengths that he went to to customise the bike. Click here for the article showcasing all the AS3 Performance parts that Hendrik used.

Fantic XE 125 Supermoto

Fantic offer 2 Supermoto bikes as standard in their current line up. One is the XM 50, which is available in either the Performance or Competition specifications and it uses the popular Minarelli AM6 engine. The other is the XMF 125, which is a 4 stroke 125 supermoto bike. There is curently no offering from Fantic for a 125 2 stroke supermoto which is the reason for this specific build. Italian rider and digital creator Diego @_dieguz___ converted his Fantic XE 125 Enduro bike to Supermoto spec, using many of our stand-out parts. These included our rear brake & gear levers with red tips, oil filler plug, front & rear brake master cylinder covers, brake line clamp and chain guide. His idea was to completely upgrade and change the look of the bike, which, so far, he has done nicely!

Gas Gas EC 300 Supermoto

This bike is the last Gas Gas EC 300 model before the company was bought out by the KTM group. The bike was produced from 2018-2020 and many thought it was one of the best Gas Gas 2 stoke Enduro bikes ever produced. German rider & content creator @dennishassler has been riding motorcycles since he was 16 and bought an EC 300 in 2020, when it was purely an Enduro bike. After a year of riding on local trails, he decided to convert his 2-stroke GasGas to full Supermoto spec and upgrade the majority of the parts. He used many AS3 Performance parts in the build and we are confident in saying it has turned out looking great! Click here to read about the AS3 parts he used in the conversion.

KTM 125 SX Supermoto

When you think of a KTM Supermoto, you instantly think of the 450 SMR, or maybe the the 690 SMC, both of which have been incredibly popular over the last decade. We like this one because it leans towards the other end of the KTM off-road range, showing that 4 strokes are not the only KTM models that work as Supermoto bikes. You can have just as much fun, if not more, on the smaller 125cc 2 strokes. A few years ago @sgangherati_crew converted their 125 SX Motocross bike to a Supermoto. This bike is part of a group of Motard and Enduro riders based in Bologna, Italy. A host of OEM parts were replaced with AS3 anodised orange parts, including the Master Cylinder Covers, Axle Blocks and Racing Foot Pegs, providing a big visual upgrade to the bike.

KTM 450 EXC-F Supermoto

Finally, to end the feature, we have an example of what most people think of when they hear the word 'Supermoto'. KTM have always been at the forefront of Supermoto with their 450 SMR and many riders choosing to convert the 450 SX-F, or in this case, the 450 EXC-F, all of which share the same engines. Italian rider and content creator @locci.smecrew converted his KTM 450 EXC Enduro bike to full Supermoto spec. Below is a nice shot of it at the Passo Sella in the Italian Dolomites. Locci has ridden since he was 16 years old and rides with a group of like-minded people who love the friendship and community spirit of bike life. He runs our orange Supermoto foot pegs.
