Essential upgrades for the Sur-Ron Light Bee X

AS3 performance parts to upgrade the look and performance of your Sur-Ron

Introduction to the Sur-Ron Light Bee X

The Sur-Ron Light Bee X was launched in 2018 and is an all electric "part dirt bike, part MTB". It has 6kW of power, only weighs 56kg and has a top speed of 75kmh! With a range of up to 100km, short charge time for the battery and a climbing ability of over 45 degrees, this lightweight off roader can provide a lot of fun over varied terrains. We brought a Light Bee X into our workshop to develop a handful of aftermarket parts for it, which we have documented with photos and details below.

Foot Pegs

The Racing Series foot pegs that we have developed for the Light Bee X are much larger and grippier than the OEM foot pegs. The platform on our foot peg is 57mm wide and each foot peg has 15 individual teeth. They are CNC machined from 7075 aluminium making them strong and light and are available in 6 bold colours - purple, green, blue, red, black and orange, the latter being featured in this article.

Rear Axle Blocks

Our rear axle blocks come with bolts to completely replace the Sur-Ron Light Bee's OEM rear axle blocks and bolts. With an alignment scale on the top and bottom of each block, the rear wheel can be correctly positioned with ease. Like the foot pegs, we offer our rear axle blocks in 6 anodised colours, including in orange pictured below.

Front & Rear Brake Levers

Designed to fit the standard master cylinders on the Sur-Ron Light Bee X, we have developed front and rear brake levers which are CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminium. Ergonomically, they feel good and aesthetically, they look good, each colour we offer having an anodised finish with our prominent AS3 Performance branding on the front of each lever.

Front & Rear Brake Reservoir Covers

The front and rear brake reservoir covers that we have developed match very nicely with our front and rear brake levers and fit perfectly on the master cylinders as they are also CNC machined from billet aluminium. They improve the look of the top of the rider controls massively and will not corrode due to having an anodised finish.

Sur-Ron Light Bee's are really easy to transport as they are relatively light so are easily manoeuvred, plus don't require much transport space.

Where can I get aftermarket parts for the Storm Bee and Ultra Bee

We also stock parts for the Sur-Ron Storm Bee Enduro bike plus the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee, the latter being a bigger version of the Light Bee and the most up-to-date in terms of technology.

What's the difference between the Sur-Ron Light Bee X and Talaria Sting?

In terms of speed and torque, the Light Bee X and Sting are pretty much exactly the same. Small differences include: The Sting is slightly heavier (62.5kg) than the Light Bee X (56kg) and the seat height on the Sting is 35" compared to 33" on the Light Bee X. The main difference between the two e bikes are functional: the Light Bee X is driven by a belt and the Talaria Sting by a gear box!
