AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #45
AS3 Performance Bike Of The Week
2023 GasGas MC 250F Factory Edition with AS3 Performance upgrades
We start our Weekly Round Up this week with a Bike Build from one of our "serial bike builders" over in the States. Since heavily upgrading a Husqvarna TC 125 and a Kawasaki KX 450 SR, he has now done the same with a 2023 GasGas MC 250F Factory Edition. Fitting a range of AS3 Performance parts to upgrade the performance and look of this Factory Edition four stroke even more, the final look is unreal! We have detailed the AS3 Performance parts used in the build, below.
For a bit of background about the Factory Editions, in 2023, GasGas launched two factory edition Troy Lee Designs Red Bull motocross models - the all-new GasGas MC 450F Factory Edition and the MC 250F Factory Edition. Compared to previous models, the 2023 models featured brand-new motors, new frames, with pretty much everything else being improved. Talking about the MC 250F Factory Edition specifically, it was given a powerful, high-revving, motor that was super compact to save weight. This motor featured a new cylinder, cylinder head and piston, crankcases, and gearbox, which all work as one to make the 2023 MC 250F Factory Edition one of the best 250cc four stroke motocross bikes on the market.
AS3 Performance Water Pump Cover & Oil Filler Plug
On the photo below, you can see an AS3 Performance water pump cover that has replaced the OEM water pump cover. Ours are CNC machined from billet aluminium and are stronger, providing better protection to the internal water pump parts than the standard cover, not to mention providing a good visual upgrade. An AS3 Performance black anodised oil filler plug has also been fitted, marrying nicely to the CMT Compositi carbon frame guards.
AS3 Performance Gear Lever Tip
On the left side of the bike, the OEM gear lever has been treated to a CNC machined, spring-loaded tip, featuring knurled grooves for improved traction and grip whilst changing gear. With a range of tip colours available, the customer has gone for a red tip as an added stand-out feature on the Factory Edition MC 250F.
AS3 Performance Fuel Cap & Flexi Levers
Moving to the rider's view of the bike and rider's controls, the customer has replaced the plastic OEM fuel cap with our black, CNC machined aluminium version, which comes complete with one-way breather vent. It certainly adds to the Factory look of the bike.
AS3 Performance Flexi Levers (flexible and adjustable front brake and clutch levers) have replaced the OEM levers. Ours are made from high-strength aluminium, forged and then CNC machined to guarantee a long life and precise fit. The pivot design allows the levers to fold outwards on any impact, preventing them from breaking or bending. The levers also have an adjustable reach, allowing you to set them at a distance to suit the rider. On this build, the customer has used a red anodised clutch flexi lever and a black anodised front brake lever, breaking the norm of running the same coloured levers!
AS3 Performance Master Cylinder Covers
The bike's controls have been finished off with AS3 Performance red anodised front brake and clutch reservoir covers (the rear brake reservoir cover has also been replaced with our red anodised version). We stock and sell a lot of these for all bike brands, in a variety of colours, as they provide such a good visual upgrade to the bike!
Since 2023, GasGas has continued with the Factory Ediitons, releasing the 2024 MC 450F and MC 250F in January this year. Both bikes feature a groundbreaking Connectivity Unit and GPS Sensor, which you can pair with a smartphone and the GASGAS+ app, allowing riders to personalize engine performance. For 2025, GasGas are releasing an MC 450 F PRADO Edition, which will be a limited edition and as close as it gets to being a full factory dirt bike! We look forward to seeing that at EICMA in November.
Want to be featured? We like to feature bikes in our Weekly Round Ups that have either been sent in to us from customers via email, or from ones that we have been tagged in on social media. If you would like your bike to be featured, feel free to contact us with some photos and information.
AS3 Supported Riders & Teams
Rounds 5 & 6 - Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC)
Our Supported Beta Motorcycles Australia Enduro Race Team was at Edenhope, Victoria at the weekend, competing on sandy and dusty tracks in low temperatures. Round 5 on the Saturday consisted of 6 sprint-format tests and Round 6 on the Sunday consisted of 5 sprint-format tests.
Jye Dickson - Beta 480 RR
On the Saturday for Round 5, Dickson dominated the day, taking 5 out of 6 test wins in the E3 Class on his 480 RR and placing 4th Overall. He did even better on the Sunday, winning all 5 tests in the E3 Class and again placing P4 Overall. Dickson commented on the weekend - "It was great to come away with a class win on both days in Edenhope... I’ve suffered from a few injuries early on in the season which hindered my results in the first few rounds, so it’s nice to be able to see what I can do on the Beta now I’m back and feeling good". Congrats to Dickson on a solid weekend. He now sits in P2 for the E3 Class Championship, only 4 points behind P1!
Andy Wilksch - Beta 350 RR
Wilksch had a tough day on the Saturday. He was switching between P3 and P4 in the E2 Class tests up until test 5. Unfortunately, he DNF'd the test due to a loose rim lock on his 350 RR, resulting in his overall position being adversely affected. On the Sunday, Wilksch couldn't quite find his rhythm, claiming P5 in the E2 Class and P9 Overall. Well done to Wilksch.
Ebony Nielsen - Beta 300 RR
Nielsen was struggling from an elbow injury sustained at the previous weekend's Hard Enduro event and found it tough in the sandy conditions due to her injury. She claimed P5 in the EW Class on both the Saturday and Sunday on her 300 RR, riding consistently whilst nursing her elbow. Congrats to Nielsen!
