AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #17
Jonny Walker Continues His EnduroCross Winning Run
2023 AMA EnduroCross Championship, Round 2, Prescott Valley, Arizona, 21st October
AS3 Performance supported Beta rider; Jonny Walker, continued what he started in the opening round - he swept all 3 races again in the 2nd round of the AMA EnduroCross Championship at the weekend! That means the British Enduro star made it 6 race wins in a row on his Beta 300 RR, going 1,1,1 in Saturday's Pro Class event.

Hot Lap & Race 1
Like in the first round in Everrett, Walker's qualifying hot lap was the quickest, by over 2 seconds! This meant he had first gate pick for Race 1. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Colton Haaker took the hole shot, however and led Walker until the penultimate lap of the race, when he went down on a tough block, under pressure from Walker. Throughout the race, Walker stalked Haaker, the Beta man being considerably quicker than the Husqvarna man through the rock section of the course, so it was "cat and mouse" until Walker passed Haaker with two laps to go. Haaker managed to pick his bike up quickly and hold on for 2nd place, followed by his Husqvarna teammate; Ryder LeBlond, rounding out the top 3.

Race 2
With Race 2 being an inverted grid, based on the results of Race 1, it was a back row start for Walker & Haaker. However, these two riders were really in a league of their own on the Prescott Valley track. Both riders were in the top 5 within the first two laps after the start, when Factory One Sherco's Cody Webb was leading. Walker soon caught and passed the Sherco man - a lead that he would not relinquish. Haaker also passed Webb and Race 2 finished with Walker 1st, Haaker 2nd and Webb 3rd.

Race 3
It seemed the only rider that could upset Jonny Walker's perfect night would be Colton Haaker. Again, it was these 2 riders out front from the start, Haaker leading, with Walker in hot pursuit and always making up time in the rock section. With 1 lap to go, Walker decided to go for it - Walker's Beta 300 RR banging bars with Haaker's 4-stroke Husqvarna - the British rider took over the lead and crossed the line in 1st place. Another win and clean sweep for 1st overall; what a run of form for Jonny! 2nd in race 3 and 2nd overall on the night for Haaker, with Sherco's Cody Webb 3rd, for 3rd overall.

AMA EnduroCross Rounds 3 & 4, Idaho Falls, 27th & 28th October
Congrats to Jonny on a perfect night at Round 2 and we look forward to seeing if he can continue his winning streak at next weekend's doubleheader in Idaho Falls. The current Top 3 in the Pro Class after 2 Rounds of the Championship are 1.) Jonny Walker, Beta. 2.) Cody Webb, Sherco. 3.) Colton Haaker, Husqvarna.
In Other Supported Rider News
Junior Enduro rider; Jay Codling, was competing in the U-16 Class of the Tees Valley XC at the weekend. Jay came 4th on his Husqvarna TC 85 Big Wheel; a problem with his carburettor costing him time getting it fixed and preventing him from a very probable podium. Congrats to Jay regardless on his 4th place, he rode extremely well after being a lap down on the rest of the field!
Our youngest supported Motocross rider; Ollie Hain, was racing in round 5 of the Scottish MX Championship, at Schoolhouse MX Track the other weekend. This track was very different to what Ollie is used to - lots and lots of big jumps which were a bit overwhelming and deep ruts! - the track got ruttier and ruttier as the day went on. Ollie was competing in the auto class on his KTM 50 SX. He qualified 12th and went 13, 14, 14 in the 3 races, for 14th overall.
Ollie on the Schoolhouse MX track competing in the auto class. You can get an idea of how big the jumps were for the 50cc riders.
Ollie said of the event; "Not my day at the races, not too sure what was up. First race taken out at the start and after that the pace just wasn't there... and the jumps, there were a lot, maybe were a bit overwhelming? Feeling run down with a cold? Who knows, we could make a few excuses, but another day learning about a new track and myself". Nevertheless, well done to Ollie! It is his first season competing and all these new tracks and experiences will certainly help him next season.

AS3 Bike Of The Week
This week, we are featuring a 2006 Honda CR 125, rebuilt by renowned Content Creator; Kirian Mirabet @kmirabet38. Using a lot of our stand-out red anodised parts, this was his first major rebuild. Other big brands were on board with the build too, including, Mitas, CMT Composti, Lectron, Boyesen, RK and Polisport. The end result looks great, check out some photos below.

The right side of the CR 125 features our black anodised rear brake pedal with red spring-loaded red tip. Our rear brake pedals are designed specifically to take impact better than cast or CNC machined pedals would, by using a cold forging process when the body of the pedal is manufactured. The pedals are then fitted with a CNC machined spring-loaded tip to help deflect any impact away from the brake pedal. Kirian also installed an AS3 Performance forged kick start lever that looks great against the black clutch cover and black rear brake pedal, as well as one of our upgraded aluminium oil filler plugs, anodised in red to match the tip of the brake pedal and the rear brake clevis.

The left side of the bike features our CNC machined aluminium chain guide, anodised in red. Our chain guides feature hard wearing plastic inserts that are replaceable and can be ordered separately from our website. Kirian has also fitted AS3 Performance rear axle blocks, anodised in red and CNC machined from billet aluminium. They feature alignment scales on the top & bottom, allowing precise positioning of the rear wheel.
This photo shows our red anodised brake accessories, plus our high pressure radiator cap in the background.
Heading up to the bike controls, Kirian fitted an AS3 Performance front brake reservoir cover, providing a big visual upgrade compared to the OEM reservoir cover. The rotating bar clamp fitted also, not only provides a visual upgrade, but also works to rotate on impact, helping prevent damage to the master cylinder & lever in the event of a crash or tip over.
